Where To Celebrate Qatar National Day 2019

Qatar National Day is celebrated annually on December 18th, to commemorate the country’s unification in 1878. The holiday was established in June 2007 and  it’s a national holiday.

There is a plethora of activities organized around the country during the National Day and throughout the week, including the Parade at Doha’s Corniche, fireworks shows, music shows and more.

Let’s have a look!

1. The National Parade

The largest national parade takes place annually at the Corniche, by the MOI, Emiri Guards and Civil Defense. At the same time, there will be flying and maritime displays, making the event even more spectacular. The parade will start at 9:30am.

2. Fireworks- December 18

The annual evening fireworks light up the sky with beautiful colors! The event will take place at around 8pm- as every year- at the Corniche.

3. Air shows- December 17-18

Spectacular air shows will take place in around Doha:

  • At Katara Cultural Village on December 17, 4pm
  • At Corniche on December 18, during the Parade

4. Celebrations at Katara Cultural Village

The celebrations at Katara take place from 3pm to 10pm and they’ll include national dances, various exhibitions, fireworks, astronomy shows. For more information click here.

5. Aspire Zone, December

The activities at Aspire Zone will take place from 3:30pm to 10pm and will include Cultural Celebrations, Military Iron Man competitions, Military Obstacle and Shooting competitions. Plus, there will be a Military Parade, Art Celebrations and an Air Show by the Qatar Air Sport Committee. For more information click here.

6. Mall of Qatar & Mirqab Mall

There are numerous activities organized by the Mall of Qatar and Mirqab Mall, for both adults and kids. The Mall of Qatar will present a live performance by Rahma Riad, while Mirqab Mall will host activities such as Build The Qatari Flag, Falcons in the Mall, Traditional Henna and more.
