1. Arrange your desert safari with a private guide/ Stay overnight

There are many companies in Doha that organize everything for you. They will pick you up (and drop you off) from the hotel or anywhere in the city, drive you to the desert and then drive across the sand dunes with a 4x4 vehicle with specially-trained drivers. You can, of course, let your guide know how you’d like the drive to be; they can either go smoothly or if you need some excitement, let them know that you’re into a bumpy ride! Apart from the drive, most packages include the following:

• Camel riding

• Complimentary Gahwa and Karak drinks

• A stop over to admire the beautiful panoramic views and of course, take photos

• Views of the breathtaking sunset

There are also packages that include a meal in the traditional Qatari way, along with Arabian dances.

Prices start from QAR 170 per person for a 4-hour ride. The 8-hour safari with lunch or dinner will be around QAR 560 per person. Different prices may apply for groups.

There’s the option to spend the night at the desert. What an experience that would be! Companies can arrange a sleepover in a Bedouin Camp; breakfast the following morning is included.

Prices for the Overnight Desert Safari start from QAR 600 per person.
